Student Appreciation Awards Banquet and Ceremony

HSF is a major contributor to the Student Appreciation Awards, providing funding that allows for the recognition of those that make a difference to life at Humber. The Student Appreciation Banquet takes place every year in April.

Fall Into the World of Student Achievement!

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Student Appreciation Banquet at Humber. On Monday, April 12, 2010, students and faculty that have been nominated for making a significant impact on someone’s life at Humber will be recognized.

Students can nominate fellow students, faculty, and administrative staff. Humber staff can nominate students, who demonstrate acts of selfless dedication in social or cultural events, athletic achievement, special events, student government, or as a paid employee in a specific department.

This year’s theme for the banquet is Alice in Wonderland. Just like Alice, students enter a new world of adventures that help them grow into a new person.

Before these outstanding individuals can be recognized they need to be nominated and that power is in YOUR hands!!!

Pick up and fill out an application from Monday, March 1, to Wednesday, March 24, in the HSF rooms and athletic centre at all three Humber campuses, room GH204 at Guelph-Humber, or simply by logging onto the event website, www.humbersab.com. All nominations must be submitted by Wednesday, March 24, 2010.

Nominations open: Monday, March 1, 2010.
Nominations end: Wednesday, March 24, 2010
Student Appreciation Banquet: Monday, April 12, 2010

DON’T BE LATE. SAVE THE DATE. NOMINATE!

Organized by the second-year Public Relations students at Humber, the Student Appreciation Award is designed to recognized individuals who contribute to the quality of student life and the Humber community inside and outside of the classroom.

Individuals or groups who facilitate or encourage extracurricular activities that enhance a student’s experience, or activities/projects that enhance the community of Humber Institute for Technology and Advanced Learning will be recognized.

Nominees will be individuals who demonstrate selfless dedication and excellence in areas such as: social or cultural events, athletic achievement, special events, student government or as a paid employee in a specific department.

Excellence can be demonstrated through leadership, service or dedication – the willingness to go well above and beyond the scope of their position or role. They are the type of individual or group whose contribution would be missed if they were not part of the Humber community.

» A student can nominate any individual or group (student, faculty,
and/or staff) who contributes to the quality of student life inside or
outside of the classroom.

» Members of the college community (faculty and staff) who are not
students may nominate a student(s) who contributes to the quality
of student life and the Humber community inside or outside the
classroom.

» If the nominee is a student, they must be in good academic
standing.

» If the nominee is a faculty, support staff or administrator, the
nomination must be endorsed by their Manager.
Departmental students, staff and faculty who are organizing the
event are not eligible to nominate or to win a Student Appreciation
Award.

» Nominators must be full-time or part-time students, staff or faculty
of Humber.
» Nomination forms must be accompanied by a typed, comprehensive
rationale of why the individual has been nominated based upon the
criteria for this award.

representative of the HSF, and representatives of the Awards
office of Humber.

Appreciation Banquet in April.
» The nominator is requested to present the award at the Student
